5 Reason to book Photography + Videography under the same Company

As a wedding industry professional we see the same nightmare all the time. “The photographer was in my shot and ruined it” or “The videographer kept getting my way” This can create a lot of unnecessary tension and stress on your wedding day. This DOES NOT have to be your experience!

To avoid this potential experience, here are 5 reason why you should hire photography and videography from the same company:

TWO BIRDS, ONE STONE

Lets face it, wedding planning can be a daunting task. By booking photo + video under the same company you will save so much time in the planning process by having one meeting with your photo and video team, as well as being able to keep all communication under the same house. This will be a huge time saver when you are trying to plan your wedding! Having to use two separate companies will most likely double the communication, meetings, and contracts you have to have. By having both under one umbrella, you only have one contract and one payment schedule to worry about.

FLOW OF THE DAY

Would you hire a wedding band to play at your wedding, if they have never played together before? Probably not. The same concept applies to hiring when hiring and photographer and videographer. A band that has played together for years will preform better. The same can be said for a photo + video team that works together day in and day out. As a team they know where each other will be to avoid stepping in each others way, as well as knowing when and how to seamlessly capture each moment as it comes. It ensures an easy flow for your wedding day without any disruptions or unnecessary time spent coordinating.

Its no secret that some photographers will blame to videographer for them missing a shot because they were in the way, and vice versa.

COHESIVE STORY TELLING

It would be kind of odd if you look back at your photos, and they are bright and vibrant photos, and your wedding film is dramatic and moody. With two different companies they may want different style of shots and poses, which will typically take up more time during your portrait session. With one company the team wants the same poses. Having a videographer and photographer from the same company ensures that you are getting a consistent product with your wedding images as well as your wedding film.

DISCOUNTS

When a vendor creates their prices, they incorporate everything they need to perform the service (i.e. camera gear, editing software, insurance, marketing ect.) Hiring two separate companies means two separate sets of expenses. But hiring one company means only one set of expenses, which will save you money on the overall price. I feel like this is a no brainer. In addition, some companies (including us) offer a discount when photo + video are booked together.

ACCOUNTABILITY

When hiring videography and photography under the same company, it will ensure that you have one company that holds the same priorities for your wedding day, making sure that they will deliver the best possible product for you.

From the Bride

We are so thrilled we decided to work with Veronica (Photographer) and Alex (Videographer). Everything from our introductory meeting through our wedding day itself went so smoothly--they both are so kind and fun to work with! We bonded right away with the love of our fur babies :) Veronica and Alex made us feel comfortable, and took a nice balance of natural, traditional and really creative shots/scenes. We would definitely book with Veronica Young Photography again!
